"Carla J. Smith, daughter of the late Lorenzo and Celestine Harris. A coal-miner’s daughter and the youngest girl of nine siblings from a small town in rural Pennsylvania. She served in the U.S. Army obtaining two Commendation medals and an overseas ribbon. She has a B.S. in Communication and is currently enrolled in Central Michigan University matriculating a Master of Science in General Administration.
Carla is currently employed by the Federal Government and has received numerous accomplishments and awards throughout the years, to include, the Pittsburgh Federal Executive Board Woman of the Year, Professional Employee – Staff Support Silver Award.
Carla was licensed to preach the gospel in September 1998 at St. John Missionary Full Gospel Baptist Church (MFGBC), Meadville, PA. She was presented before an ordination counsel on November 10, 2002, where she became an ordained Elder, furthering her service in various capacities in the local church and throughout the state of Pennsylvania for over 20 years.
Carla is married to Bishop Stanley K. Smith, retired pastor of St. John MFGBC and State Bishop of PA for the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International. They have three beautiful adult daughters and five amazing grandchildren. Carla and her husband currently reside in the state of Virginia.
