Overview

With a sick wife at home, Barrachus, a local idol maker in Shavron, needs money to get medicine for his wife. Customers are few, money is short, and time for his wife is running out. A stranger from a foreign land commissions him to create a mysterious idol made of ivory for the hefty payment of— one million pounds of gold!

Problem solved.

But the following day, Barrachus's only child is kidnapped right before his eyes to be burnt as an offering to a wicked tyrant. The promise of gold is gone and his wife is near death's door. Now, Barrachus must venture to find his son in a land saturated in superstition and darkness. With the help of the Holy One and a former ally, Barrachus will fight for his life and discover if the Holy One's promises are true. Can Barrachus save his son? Will he get the money to save his wife? Or will everything he holds dear be eaten away by the fires abroad?

The fire is burning.

The Tyrant is waiting.

Time is ticking.
