Overview

Take a trip to Victorian era Ireland where four young people are making life-changing decisions. The country is dividing into Land League proponents who seek freedom from rule by the British, and those who wish to remain part of the empire. The Great Hunger has passed, and Ireland has financially recovered, but many of the Irish live hand to mouth each month. Aengus, Aiden, Deirdre, and Moira, all live near Queensland (Cobh), County Cork. The world they live in is changing rapidly, and they must find their way forward. You'll find adventure, heroics, humor, romance, and perseverance within these pages.

About the Author

Chere’ Beavers retired from teaching public school students after 31 years. She and her husband Bill raised two sons. She now spends time with her five grandchildren, volunteers in their schools, writes, makes scrapbooks, and tries to keep in touch with her very large family of siblings and in-laws.
“Having always had an interest in studying history, historical fiction was an easy choice for my first novel. Researching my Irish ancestors gave me the title for it. I have included some real facts about my family, but their names have all been rearranged. I hope you will enjoy this story.” Chere'
