Overview

When it's time to make decisions about their children's education, many parents worry about the risks of sending their children to public school. The authors of Going Public, however, believe that Christian parents can lead their children to success in the public-school system and guide their growth as they develop into strong and faithful believers.

As parents of eight public-school kids and as long-time leaders of youth and families, David and Kelli Pritchard offer hands-on advice and real-life stories in this one-of-a-kind field guide for parents. You'll discover what the Bible says about education as well as the strategic role you have to play in the ongoing development of your school-aged child. You'll also learn the three most important things to teach your child before he or she begins the exciting adventure of public education: (1) loving God with all his or her heart, (2) obeying you unconditionally, and (3) practicing self-control.

Homeschooling or Christian schools work for some families, but Going Public shows how you can help your children flourish in public education. When you nurture the life and power of Christ within your children, they are prepared for thoughtful engagement with the forces that surround them and are strengthened as they make choices to stand up for what is right. With God's help and these solid, biblical principles, your child can thrive in public school!
