The world of special education can often times feel daunting to new and even experienced special education teachers! The author's first interaction with a special needs student was at the young age of 16 during the time she was in school. Even after extensive schooling she still did not understand how to deal with students that had special needs and it deeply affected her, but she let nothing come in the way of her goal which was to teach those kids. During her time as a teacher she struggled with mental breakdowns, including the time they admitted her to the hospital for anxiety and depression. This is very common amongst teachers that cater to special need students and because of the lack of awareness about the subject the issue goes mainly unnoticed.
