Overview

The title “…the absence of what is not…” strange as it sounds, is a part of a quote which fully states that “In the absence of what is not, all you are is not”. Consider that you are in a white room, and this the state of existence available to you at the time. All you know is the white room. Then, not considering how, someone squirts a dot of ink on the wall. All you know of yourself becomes in relation to the dot on the wall; you are big, it is small and such conclusions. Then, someone lets a cat in the room. Next, a piano, a butterfly, etc. Now, there is more to compare your existence to. In the absence of that which is not, all you are is not.
This imagery has been raised to invoke thoughtfulness especially in consideration of the subject-matter of this text.
Ever since man looked up and saw the stars, the human psyche has been baffled and strumming with the simple question of its sole tenancy in the universe.
Since strange stories of strange happenings began to circulate, the thought has evolved to fact. Well, to some, in ways that they choose to accept it, it has morphed into more fact than fiction.
However, should they choose to believe it as scientific or religious, the truth remains; there are some difficult-to-explain beings out there and they are even more interested in us than we are in them. This, could probably be attributed to the fact that whilst we are unsure of their existence, they, are fully aware of ours.
So, “Are we alone in this universe?”
