Overview

This is the story of how a young boy begins missing his older brother who has passed away. He, along with his parents, go through the stages of grief and acceptance. It is also about hope; hope that we will all get to see our loved ones again after they have passed on.

Bay Cunningham, an elementary school teacher who lost her first-born son, wrote A Big Brother in Heaven in hopes of helping her second son and other families who have lost loved ones. It was illustrated by some of her elementary-school students who graciously lent their time, talents and interpretations, to help to make this book what it is.

About the Author

I have learned through my grieving and healing process that many have been affected by the loss of a child or sibling. I was not able to find a much literature regarding this issue. I then decided to write a children's book that would address loss to help children who have lost siblings and let them know that they are not alone.
This book written by myself and illustrated by seven of my former elementary students is intended to help families throughout the world.
