About the Author


Steve Sjogren is the Founding Pastor of the Cincinnati Vineyard, a church that grew from five people to 7,500 in weekly attendance with his talent team's leadership. The unique feature of this church was they literally gave up after two years of struggling to achieve 'success' and made a fateful decision - to give everything away! Numbers, attendance - such matrix factors no longer were focused upon. What counted was simply "How many can we serve, love, show generosity to?" It wasn't long before scads of people were showing up.
Steve and Janie have pioneered from scratch either alone or with a team five launch teams around the U.S. and Europe using servant evangelism as a launch approach to loving their cities and redefining God away from a "Come to us" to a "We come, we show you" approach. "Invest, fling seeds, let God take care of the details" has worked well as a motto. Very high percentages of not-yet believers have been drawn to each of their churches, daughter and grand-daugher churches. They now are in Tampa working with teams of planters.
